In Utah, Pioneer Day on July 24 outshines the Fourth of July and makes Christmas seem like a blip on the calendar. It marks the day in 1847 when Brigham Young led the pioneers into what is now Salt Lake City and declared, "This is the spot." They have a huge celebration but we can still celebrate out here even without the big parade and all the whoop-de-do! We can do lots of ways we can do this. We can learn about the why pioneers had to leave. We can learn to do activites and make food or sing songs that early pioneers did! We can also learn about the Mormon Pioneer Trail. Hope you have some fun!
